State Assessment Requirements

The State of Minnesota requires nationally norm-referenced standardized achievement examinations yearly for home schooled students. You can find the Test Order Form for the SAT-10 test or the Iowa Form E test further down on this page.

The Minnesota Statewide Testing Program (MSTP), through the University of Minnesota, is one source that provides testing materials for home school educators in Minnesota.  Any Minnesota elementary, middle, secondary, or homeschool may use the services of MSTP.  All home school educators must pre-pay for their testing directly to MSTP.  Please note, they do accept check or money order at this time, however online payment is coming soon.

Results from the testing are returned directly to the test administrator. MSTP does not provide homeschool testing scores to the district (unless the district administers the test) or the state, please keep your results for your homeschool records.

Important MSTP Information to Know:

• Completed order forms for Fall testing must be postmarked by October 15th.
• Completed order forms for Spring testing must be postmarked by April 30th.
• A late fee of $15 will be charged if order forms are not postmarked by specified date.

***NEW:  The Iowa Form E test requires a non-parent proctor, please visit the MSTP Contact link below for more info***
